The lifeguard moving quickly past Lindseys chair seemed to come out of nowhere. Four steps later he was in the air, jumping right in the middle of where her children were playing. Before she could get to her feet, the teenaged guard had her 10-year-old pressed up above the surface and was backing up to the pool edge. Someone was screaming her childs name and the young boy started crying. Her little boy had been drowning right in front of her and she didnt have any idea it was happening.

After seeing and holding the newest member of our family I’ve realized that there is nothing as pure, beautiful and amazing as the sight of a new born baby, but the smell, the smell of a newborn so lovely, so clean, it actually reminded me of the air in Oregon, strange I know, but it did.
I’ll be honest with you. In my house, the beds are rarely made unless someone is coming to visit. Sometimes I yell. My closet is a disaster and I feel guilty that I work too much. My kids watch more TV than they should. And I simply cannot afford to go all organic right now. There is a sticky shelf in my refrigerator that I keep hoping will evaporate on its own, and this morning I had to send my son off to camp with a PB&J made with frozen waffles because I forgot to buy bread. The other day one of my teenage daughters told me she was going to delete her Facebook page. She said she kept noticing that her mood and the way she felt about herself changed whenever she was logged on. She felt pressured about her looks and her social life; basically, she was not feeling good about herself whenever she was using Facebook.
