April 11, 2013 by The Nutrition Twins Leave a Comment

If you’re like me and most moms, juggling the kids’s schedules has got you a little sleep deprived.  If you’re trying to kick your coffee habit but still need a little caffeine boost, we’ve got a great energy boosting alternative for you to try– a delicious low-calorie chai tea latte!

Chai is commonly made with milk, black tea and a variety of spices such as cinnamon and ginger. There’s some caffeine (15-55 mg in 8 ounces–but less than coffee (100-200 mg in 8 ounces) so you’ll get a hydrating lift. Plus tea is packed with antioxidants to keep you healthy and invigorated. The spices have health benefits as well and cinnamon even helps with blood sugar control.

This latte has been hitting the spot for us in the mornings lately and we hope it does for you too!
