Veggie Thursday: Fighting Fat with Fruits and Veggies!

Hi All,

Somewhere inside of us we know that eating fruits and veggie’s (combined with some exercise) keeps us lean and healthy. Let’s review why.

Fruits & Veggies:

— are very low in fat,

— are low in calories,

— are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals, eliminate wastes quickly and help reduce 
cravings for sweets,

— keep your energy levels steady so you don’t 
become too hungry or too tired,

—  carry off excess body acids, and are rich in vitamins, 
minerals and enzymes that satisfy the body’s nutrient requirements with less food.

Some veggies like, broccoli, asparagus, celery, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower are fat-burning cruciferous vegetables that are high in fiber and have a low caloric content. You actually burn more calories processing them than the actual calorie content of the food itselfwhen eaten in normal sized portions.

Onions, radishes and hot peppers have a thermogenic effect and raise your body temp, which raises your metabolism too.

If this isn’t an argument for eating fruits and veggie’s then I don’t know what is.

The problem– we already know this and it doesn’t seem very sexy or exciting.

The solution– imagine, and stay connected to the results from eating a diet rich in fruits and veggies: you are sexy and confident both in your clothes and out because of eating fat fighting, metabolism burning fruits & veggies. Also stay connected to the psychological effects of taking care of yourself- it’s extremely worthwhile—just do it for a week, make it a priority but take the pressure off of the outcome-you can handle it. Just do it to see what happens. You won’t regret it.
