Let’s Craft: Paper Cones

April 26, 2015 by Madison Pados Leave a Comment

Are you looking for a simple decoration for a party or something the kids can do that will keep their active little butts in a chair for a few minutes.

This project comes from crafty mom Ianthe Morrow. You can fill them with flowers, party favors, or candy, and they can hang on the door knob.

It’s a fun and creative craft that’s easy enough for kids to do – love!

Here’s how to make paper cones:

Supplies

  • Paper (rectangular works best)
  • Stapler
  • Hole Punch
  • Ribbon (however long you like)
  • Filler (candy, flowers, etc.)

Directions

Roll paper into a cone.  Make adjustments so it’s just right.  It should be open at one end and come to a point on the other end. Staple the bottom so your filling doesn’t fall out.

Use the hole punch to put a hole on either side of the cone. Thread your ribbon through one hole, around the front, and through the other hole.  Make sure the ends are the same length.

Tie the ends in a knot or a bow (your choice) so it forms a handle.

That’s it! Now you have a cute paper cone to fill with goodies like candies, flowers and party favors!

Want to watch Ianthe take you through this project step by step? Check out the video below – and be sure to take a look at all the other great craft videos on the ModernMom YouTube Channel.

Planning to try this at home? We’d love to see how it turns out! Send us photos of your crafty efforts and we’ll add them to our photo gallery!
