When the guys have things to do and my daughter and I are left at home to hang out together, we love to call over some friends and party together! Since this was just a girl’s get together, we decided to lighten things up a bit and eat some healthier foods, but still incorporate some of our favorite saucesome products — like Ragú®!
For starters, we purchased a few things like foot soak for the bathtub, and gave ourselves pedicures. We had fun painting each others toes and just sitting around the floor chatting with each other. The girls worked on making tie dyed shirts and singing some of their favorite songs. They love getting together and just hanging out for the heck of it.
Then of course, because we were hungry, we decided to try out hand at making Chicken Parmesan, but with a lighter crust — making it a little healthier for you. I think we have a winner here. Of course, the Old World Style® Sauce is what makes this recipe so saucesome!
Being together my kids and their friends is what makes our days so saucesome. They know that at any given moment, our door is always open and is a place where they can come to hang out and just relax. And of course, they know if they come over here, they are going to get fed some delicious food.
Ragú® is recognizing and celebrating everything that makes family mealtime Saucesome. From unique recipes to silly moments to crazy weeknights…it’s all Saucesome with the delicious help of Ragú® Sauce.
So here is how you make this amazingly delicious twist on the Classic Chicken Parm.
You will need the following ingredients:
- 1 cup quinoa
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 6 boneless, skinless chicken breast tenderloins, cut in half
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup Ragu Traditional Sauce
- 1/4 cup basil leaves, diced
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and lightly oil a baking sheet. This will keep your quinoa from sticking to the pan and will help it brown as well.
In a large saucepan of 1 1/2 cups water, cook quinoa according to package instructions.
Stir in Italian seasoning and mix together. While you are doing that, season chicken with salt and pepper, to taste.
Working in batches, dredge chicken in flour, dip into eggs, then dredge in quinoa mixture, pressing to coat.
Place the chicken onto the prepared baking sheet.
Place into oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Top with cheeses and Ragú® Sauce. Place into oven and bake until cheeses have melted, about 5 more minutes.
Serve immediately, garnished with basil, if desired.
Ragú® Old World Style® Traditional Sauce has a delicious taste your whole family will love.
