52,000 Mazda 6s Recalled due to Spider Intrusion

This has got to be the oddest reason for a recall we’ve seen yet! Japanese automaker Mazda announced a recall Thursday of 52,000 Mazda 6 sedans from the 2009-10 model years after finding that a spider web can cause the fuel tank to crack and leak. Mazda told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that a certain type of spider may weave a web in the evaporative canister vent line and this may cause a restriction in the line.

Almost 800,000 child safety seats made by the Dorel Juvenile Group are being recalled due to safety harness problems. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall Monday. The recall covers booster, convertible and infant seats made by Dorel.

Toyota to Recall Lexus Models in U.S.

Toyota is voluntarily recalling about 245,000 Lexus cars sold in the United States. There is a possible problem with the fuel pressure sensor installation. The fuel pressure installation may be loose. If this happens, fuel could leak. Toyota says there have been no reports of accidents due to the defect. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will release the Defect Information Report later today.

GM Recalls 100,000 Vehicles
