But as more children in need of a stable parental unit continue to flood the foster care system and adoption agencies scramble to place them in good homes, the parameters for what federal and state laws deem to be “parent worthy” have expanded. While some agencies continue to be strict with who they allow to adopt, others welcome older couples, single parents, gay men and women, those serving in the military and people with disabilities.
Father and Aussie Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead
Heath Ledger, dad to Matilda Rose, 2, was found dead at his New York residence on Tuesday, a police spokesman confirmed to the Associated Press. The NYPD spokesman tells AP that Heath, 28, had a massage appointment at his Manhattan apartment yesterday afternoon. When the housekeeper went to alert Ledger the masseuse was there, she found him dead at around 3:26 p.m.

Nicole Kidman was spotted jogging with the trainer in L.A. this week, and she was sporting a shockingly small baby bump. Tabloids report that the actress is five months along, but her bump looks otherwise — her workouts are clearly keeping her in top shape. Pal Naomi Watts recently told Australia’s Daily Telegraph that Nicole is “enjoying [her pregnancy] a lot.” I hope she is giving in to her pre-baby eating cravings as well.
