SlimQuick Side Effects

Touted by its manufacturer as the world’s first and most advanced fat burner designed specifically for the woman’s body, SlimQuick also claims to help women overcome the challenges of losing fat. However, just like any other “miracle” diet pills, SlimQuick is not without side effects. If you are considering taking SlimQuick to lose weight, make sure you know the side effects and decide if they are worth the risks.

Difficulty Sleeping

SlimQuick contains at least 200mg of methylxanthines per serving. You can also find methylxanthines in the human body, in caffeinated coffee, chocolate and other caffeinated food and beverages. Some people may be sensitive to methylxanthines and may experience side effects stemming from overstimulation when taking caffeinated products. One of its side effects is insomnia or difficulty in sleeping, especially if you take SlimQuick with other caffeinated products, such as coffee and chocolate.

Jittery and Nervousness

Nutratherm is the key ingredient in SlimQuick that supposedly targets weight loss by increasing metabolic rate through stimulation of its ingredients, which include caffeine. According to, too much caffeine can cause nervousness and jitters. This may be more apparent if you are already eating or drinking caffeinated food and beverages. Excessive caffeine can lead to fast heart rate and tremors. In moderate doses, caffeine can cause “coffee nerves” and tenseness. If you are taking SlimQuick, it is best to avoid taking other stimulants and caffeine-rich foods and beverages.

High Blood Pressure

Caffeine can also raise blood pressure. Often, doctors advise their patients who are at risk of high blood pressure to avoid caffeine. According to, if you drink three cups of coffee, your systolic pressure may rise 3 to 14 mm Hg and your diastolic pressure may rise 4 to 13 mm Hg. Therefore, if you are a heavy coffee drinker and take SlimQuick at the same time, you will only compound the situation, making your blood pressure go even higher.

Headaches, Diarrhea, Nausea and Dehydration

As a diuretic, caffeine can cause excessive urination that may lead to dehydration. It can also cause headaches, diarrhea, upset stomach, sweating and nausea.

Probably the most dangerous side effect comes from yerba mate extract, which can cause cancer, according a study conducted by Farin Kamangar and colleagues from the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics, National Cancer Institute. Kamangar’s team concluded that very high concentrations of carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, or PAHs, are present in yerba mate leaves and in hot and cold mate infusions. Nutratherm, an active ingredient of SlimQuick, also contains yerba mate extract aside from caffeine.
