When it came to naming her new baby girl, Mariska Hargitay wanted the whole family involved.
"We all talked about names because everything is a family decision in our house," Mariska says.
Mariska and her hubby even turned to their 4-year-old son, August, for ideas.
"I threw out my name and he threw out his name and I said, ‘August, why do you get to name the baby?’ And he said, ‘Because it’s my idea!’" Mariska laughs.
In the end, the family decided to name their 1-week-old addition Amaya Josephine.
“Amaya sounded so open and feminine and beautiful – just like her,” beams the proud mama of two.
