Jared Leto: A Fan Sent Me a Severed Ear

All singers want their music to reach the ears of their audience – but they certainly don’t want to literally have their ears!

Jared Leto, frontman for the band 30 Seconds to Mars recently opened up about the strangest gift he’s ever received in an interview with British radio station Xfm:

“You get all kinds of wonderful things. Someone cut their ear off once and sent it to me. That was very strange. A whole ear. The Van Gogh move. The note just said, ‘Are you listening?’ I never knew who it was, who’s missing their ear out there.”

Think that was weird? We’re not done yet.

After receiving his special gift, the 41-year-old joked that he thought about poking a hole in the ear and wearing it as a necklace.

He even shared a photo of the DIY “jewelry” on Instagram with the caption “ARE YOU LISTENING?” (Warning – picture is graphic!)

Yikes.

But before any other fans think about copying the idea, Leto insisted he’s not in the market for human parts. As he noted in the interview, “Don’t put your entire body in a case and send it to us!”

What would you do if someone sent you an ear in the mail?
