Valentine’s Day Gifts For Moms Who Hate Flowers

I spend most of the year pretending to be selfless and non-materialistic, blah blah blah, but if I’m being honest, every once in awhile I want to open up a pretty box and find an awesome present inside.

Which leads us to my big Valentine’s Day confession: I get SO bummed out when my significant other gives me flowers. They die in like two days, they’re messy and I’m just not a fan.

I know, that makes me sound like a brat. But at least I save my gift-gimmes for key holidays! (I also recycle, and donate to charity, and if I ever get that cat I’m holding out for, it’s coming from a rescue shelter FOR SURE.)

So if you’re a girl after my own heart and would prefer a funky scarf, a statement piece of jewelry or a gorgeous wallet from your dearly beloved, you’ve come to the right place.

Here are a few of my favorite gift ideas for moms:

I’m in love with this scarf because it’s fun and festive with the adorable blue and white heart pattern, but can still be worn all year round. Available for $9.99 from ModCloth.

Inspired by the Beatles song, these decorative pillows add a touch of warmth to any room – and they’re reversible, in case you love to switch things up every once in awhile. Available for $50.00 from www.lyricculture.com

This luxe leather wallet has tons of pockets, nooks and crannies to keep you organized by day, and it does double duty, turning into a chic clutch for a night out with the ladies. Available starting at $110.00 from www.hobobags.com

4. Carla Hall Petite Cookies

These chocolate hazelnut praline cookies look TO DIE FOR. Seriously, if you bring me chocolate, I will love you forever. This is the perfect way to nail it, without spending a ton of cash. Available for $9.00 from Carla Hall.

Pucker up for these adorable coffee mugs, that come in a set of four. My favorite part is that you can write little love notes and messages on the surface of the mug with chalk – what a great way to start your day. Available for $28.93 from www.wayfair.com.

This beautiful scent has notes of sandalwood, vanilla, gardenia and lily – a blend that’s sure to captivate your special someone. Spritz some on for a night of romance… wink, wink. Available for $80.00 from www.shopolivine.com.

I know this doesn’t seem like the most romantic present, but one of my friends gave a Roomba to her boyfriend and I am not kidding, I have never seen anyone so excited in my life. It keeps your house clean and dust-free with zero effort on your part – totally the gift that keeps on giving! Available for $349.99 from www.irobot.com
