Perdue Recalls 90,000 Pounds of Chicken Nuggets!

Perdue Farms is recalling 91,872 pounds of cooked, frozen chicken nuggets because of the potential some may contain pieces of plastic. The recall includes 1-pound, 13-ounce bags of "GREAT VALUE Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets." The establishment number on the recalled nuggets is P-33944. The case code on the bag is: 89008 A0160.

The source of the problem? In a statement, Bruce Stewart-Brown, Perdue's Senior Vice President for Food Safety and Quality, said, "We determined the likely source was a small plastic ring that got into the raw material before the nuggets were formed. This would have resulted in a minimal amount of consumer packages potentially containing nuggets with the plastic, which is bright blue in color. However, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to recall all 50,688 packages of nuggets produced in the same product run."

Return the nuggets to the place of purchase for a full refund. If you have additional concerns, call Perdue Farms at 1-877-727-3447.

Be sure you check the brand before you heat up some chicken nuggets for your little ones!
