Spice Up Your Sex Life with Food!

Want to experiment and add a little spice to your love life (literally?) Create an aphrodisiac meal — It’s true, many foods can be stimulating though none will do the same thing a popular dysfunction drug will do. But that’s no fun anyway…Aphrodisiacs unfortunately won’t make you irresistible, but certain foods, smells and herbs do have a natural aphrodisiac effect to encourage sexual desire in both men and women. Ready to give it a try?

An Aphrodisiac Meal

Get started

Choose foods you will both relish that look and sound delicious to both of you.

Champagne? Yes please!

Serve champagne, but not too much. Try to limit your alcohol intake to keep your evening fun and sensual. You may be inclined to keep the champagne flowing, but pace yourself — did you know guys get affected by too much alcohol in a not-good-down-there way?

Spice things up

Prepare a tray of savory and spicy finger foods. Include oysters or caviar, as these are rich in nutrients that can encourage sexual health. Pairing certain foods and drinks like caviar with vodka can definitely increase the benefits and spicy or hot foods like wasabi stimulate blood flow — oh yeah!

Yummy desserts

Want to make a luscious aphrodisiac dessert tray? It’s a fun idea to take into the bedroom — include peaches or figs, considered aphrodisiacs because of their visual similarity to the female genitalia (hello!) Add fresh, juicy berries to round out the fruits. Include chocolate, especially dark chocolate, which can increase the sex chemicals in the brain. More champagne please!

Aphrodisiac Fragrances

Step 1

Use scent to increase sexual desire. Choose vanilla, musk or patchouli scents if you want to encourage a sensual atmosphere.

Step 2

Light scented candles around the house, but away from food to increase libido and make a romantic atmosphere.

Step 3

Add a small amount of vanilla, patchouli oil or a musk scented bath oil to your bath or choose fragrances with these components to drive your partner wild.

Warnings

  • Avoid herbals and other products that claim to be an aphrodisiac. These may be unsafe and are not FDA-approved.
