From cute printed shorts to long, flowing dresses, teenage girls have a wide variety of options for fashionable clothing. A pair of leggings adds a layer of interest to an outfit while keeping a teen’s legs warm. Whether it is fall or winter, spring or summer, the teenager in your life will always have an excuse to look cute.
Short Shorts
Cute shorts for teens come in a variety of different lengths, prints and fabrics. Lighter colors, such as lilac and white, are great to wear during the summer, as are dainty prints, such as gingham. Teens who want a more dressy look can wear floral print shorts that are flowy and cut almost like a skirt. Another dressy option for shorts is a high-waisted pair with decorative side pockets or a pair made from silk in a deep color.
Distressed Denim
Surprisingly, a denim mini-skirt or raggedy pair of cut-offs can look cute. Distressed denim has long been a popular clothing style with teenagers. Teens can make their own cut-offs by trimming down an old pair of jeans or they can buy pre-made cut-offs. One benefit of pre-made cut-offs is that the frayed hems are usually supported by a row of stitching to prevent them from unraveling further. Distressed denim looks may also feature carefully worn-down patches on the thighs and knees and subtle tears at the pockets and belt loops.
Show Your Leggings
Leggings look best when teens wear them under a mini-skirt in the cooler months or under a longer length tunic top. Some teens wear leggings as pants, which is not always a flattering look. Leggings are typically made of spandex and cotton or a synthetic fabric. You can find leggings in a wide variety of colors, including metallic colors and prints. Although they are worn like tights, leggings usually do not have feet.
Jeggings are leggings that are made to resemble denim. They are supposed to be more comfortable to wear than skinny jeans, another popular teen clothing item, since they do not restrict the body the way tight denim does.
Mini to Maxi Dresses
Popular dress styles for teens include cute, flirty, above-the-knee sundresses in tie-dye, floral or solid prints as well as ankle-length maxi-dresses, which are great for covering up after a day at the beach or pool. The mixed media dress is another cute style. The top of the dress is a jersey knit fabric while the skirt is made of a crisp woven cotton.
