Hairstyles for Curls

If you have curly hair, consider yourself lucky. You do not have to spend hundreds of your dollars to get your hair permed. While ladies with straight hair spend hours creating waves with their curlers and curling iron, you don’t have to. Your curly hair is an asset; therefore, you should take advantage of it. Choose from the many creative ways you can style your curly hair for a sassier and sexier you.

Ringlet Updo

For a prom, wedding or hot date, style your hair in a ringlet updo for a softer and alluring look. Spritz water on your hair to dampen it. Make sure that your hair is not dripping wet. Use a teasing or paddle comb to remove knots and tangles. Applying liquid gel or styling mousse all over your hair will help relax the curls. Using the comb, gather and pull up your hair to the back of your head. Pull it up high as close to the top of your head as possible. Then, tie your hair with an elastic band to create a tight ponytail. Winding the tail around the base of the ponytail covers the elastic band to create a bun. Adding bobby pins at the base secures the bun in place.

Loosen up a few thin strands of hair near your cheeks and behind your ears. For symmetry, do two sections on each side, each measuring about 1 inch in width. Create ringlets by twisting each section around your index finger, holding it for up to 15 seconds and spraying firm-hold spray. Untwist the hair from your finger to reveal the section of hair with tight ringlike or spiral curls. Repeat the process on each section of hair. This is an ideal hairdo for shoulder-length and long hair.

Wet And Wavy

Create a wet and wavy hairstyle for a more irresistible you. To achieve the look, wash hair, towel dry and apply leave-in conditioner. Apply styling gel and sheen using your hands. Rubbing your hands together will help distribute the styling gel and sheen evenly on your hair to help control any frizz. Tousle your hair and remove any knots and tangles. Spritz your hair with a little water to loosen any tight curls, and then apply light-hold hairspray. This hairstyle is ideal for short, medium and long hair.

Loose Braid

For a relaxed and casual look, a loose braid will help you loosen up. Brush your hair to remove knots and tangles. Brush up and gather your hair below your neck. Part your hair into two sections and create a basic braid. Weave your hair by alternating the left section over right and the right section over left until you reach the end. Avoid tightening the braid as you weave the sections together. Leave at least 2 inches of hair at the end and tie it with an elastic band. This style works best on shoulder-length and long hair.
