Uma Thurman, Salma Hayek and Debra Messing among other celebrity moms were honored at the 3rd annual Smart Cookie Awards for their outstanding contributions to women’s and children’s causes.
Uma told Entertainment Tonight that “Being a mother makes you think about all the other mothers and fathers who are struggling with less than I’ve been fortunate enough to have in my work, and other ways and being able to provide for your children.” Uma was hononred for her work helping children born to poverty through an organization called Room to Grow.
