The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled approximately 48,000 Roman shade make-it-yourself kits made by the Wm. Wright Co and manufactured in China. The kits were recalled because strangulation can occur when a child places his neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the back of the shades, or when a child pulls out the cord and wraps it around their neck. Available at Jo-Ann Stores, Walmart, and other specialty textile stores nation wide between December 2007 and June 2011, these kits sold for between $20 and $25.
