Nic and Keith Have a Passion for Fashion

October 11, 2009 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

Nicole Kidman and hubby Keith Urban, who are expecting their first child together in July, are becoming fashion designers. Moms and moms-to-be Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham, Heidi Klum, Elizabeth Hurley, and Sarah Jessica Parker have all established themselves as entrepreneurs and designers in the fashion world—but Nic and Keith are the first A-list celeb couple to design a line together.

The couple is currently putting together a full range of togs under the brand name “Hank Evie,” to which Keith just secured a copyright. The name, of course, has a special meaning: Hank is Nicole’s nickname for Keith, and Evie is Keith’s nickname for her. The Hank Evie brand is already out on Keith’s website in the form of concert t-shirts, but the couple is planning to expand these items into a full line of clothing to create a global brand.

Any thoughts on what the togs will look like? Nicole still has that Hollywood glam aura emanating from her, but she seems so much more laid back these days – most likely, that’s from enjoying a quieter life in Nashville with Keith. I’m hoping the couple will capitalize on their Australian roots when designing the collection to bring something fresh, and unfussy, to fashion. Aussie style is much more practical and casual than the popular designs that dominate American and European runways. It would be really neat to see Hank Evie combine that relaxed simplicity with Hollywood elegance, and personify Keith and Nicole as a couple.
