The Boy Scouts Recall Cub Scouts Jackets

The Boy Scouts of America have voluntarily recalled 5,400 Cub Scout Wind Tech Jackets. These jackets have retractable cords with toggles near the hood which can pose a strangulation risk or entrapment hazard to children.

The affected products are the blue Cub Scout Wind Tech jackets, which were were sold in youth sizes at Boy Scouts of America retail outlets and online from November 2009 through July 2011 for about $32.

They are nylon with a polyester lining, have a front zipper and a Cub Scout wolf head emblem embroidered on the upper left chest. The jackets have the SKU numbers 73291, 73292, and 73293 on their tags.

If your child has one of these jackets, they should stop using it immediately. Consumers are advised to either remove the cords from the jacket to eliminate the hazard or return it to the Boy Scouts of America for a full refund.
