Meryl Streep is Golden

Meryl Streep continues to be Hollywood’s leading lady. At 60-years-old, the woman is on fire.

At this Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards, Streep won Best Actress in a musical or comedy for her role in Julie and Julia.  She beat 3 nominees and herself – she was also nominated for her great performance in It’s Complicated.

Streep has won six other Golden Globe Awards for performances in movies like The Devil Wears Prada, Sophie’s Choice, and Kramer vs. Kramer. She also has two Best Actress Oscars under her belt for Sophie’s Choice and Kramer vs. Kramer. She received her first Oscar and Golden Globe nomination in 1979 for Deer Hunter.

Streep has one daughter, Mamie Gummer, 25. Gummer announced in October 2009 that she was engaged to be married to Ben Walker. Gummer is following in her Mom’s footsteps. She is an actress herself. Walker and Gummer met during the production of Dangerous Liaisons on Broadway.

Congrats to Meryl on another well-deserved win!
