Fitness For Your Mind, Body and Soul

I just finished another double workout and strangely the person that inspired me was my general physician. I had a three-hour physical the other day and feel pretty great about taking responsibility for my own body and making sure everything is in order. While I was there, we talked a lot about the benefits of fitness. He shared a medical study that says Americans gain approximately 7 lbs. between Thanksgiving and New Years. They only drop 4 lbs. of the weight during the year.

“Yikes,” I thought as I have been eating and drinking the entire season! During this time of year when so many people are stressed – full of anxiety and even depressed – working out is the best medicine. It’s the best stress reliever that I know. So I am kicking it up a notch and working out harder to balance my holiday splurging.

It’s also my hour of “me time,” where I can get my head and my heart in the right place. It’s one of the few hours in a day that are all for me and I can’t begin to describe how amazing I feel after a workout – even if I’m physically broken down. I feel like I did something for myself and I feel great when I take care of my body.  It enables me to put my mind in a better space.

My fitness DVD that I developed with Dr. Greg Joujon-Roche, who in my opinion is one of the best trainers on the planet, is designed for anybody that wants to change their body and get in shape. I’m so excited to be able to offer it to everybody so we can work out together in the privacy of your own living room. I’m all about squeezing in my workouts wherever I can and on most days doing it at home makes the most sense. My DVDs are available now online and at BestBuy. Let’s get in shape together!

It’s a workout that you can do at your own pace, you can use the pause button if you need it, and you can grow and get stronger. But even more exciting, you can change your body and start feeling better about yourself. If you’re already fit, I promise you this workout is super challenging. It’s what I do, and what I know works.

I can’t say it enough, fitness is for your mind, body, and soul and it’s the best gift you can give to yourself.  It’s not just to squeeze into those skinny jeans. Working out will help you feel good as a woman, feel strong and get or stay healthy. If we don’t have that, we really don’t have anything.

We’ll be better moms, better wives and better friends if our head is in the right place. So if you want to balance the chaos of the holiday season, take care of yourself, set some achievable health goals & get some exercise. If you want to work out together and you get my DVD, I would love and appreciate any feedback that you have!

I’m off to NYC this week to do press.  Check me out on E! Tonight and get the first peek at my workout. Tomorrow I’m taking Kelly Ripa through a mini workout so check us out Live! With Kelly at 9am.

No more BS, Greg and I are coming to your living room!!! You can get it here.
