These three musical mamas are joined by their kids on their Lilith Fair Tour this summer. Sheryl Crow’s sons Wyatt Steven, 3, and Levi James, 11 weeks, are joining her while Sarah McLachlan’s daughter are joining is as well: India Ann Sushil, 8, and Taja Summer, 3. Erykah Badu has her three kids along for the ride too: Seven Sirius, 12, Puma Sabti, 6, and Mars Merkaba, 17 months.
And, guess what, some of the kids want in on the action. Sheryl’s son Wyatt wandered on stage as a surprise guest appearance, “He came out in his PJs. And then when he turned around and saw the audience, he’s like, ‘Heeey!’ I could see it. The creation of the monster. He’s going to be a performer.”
The three moms are just trying to adjust to the new environment and make the kids happy. “For me, on a show date when we’re at a great venue in a field, I’m gonna bring out the little pool,” Sarah jokes, “The kids don’t care, they just want to have fun.”
Even though the ladies have some hired help to take care of their little ones on the road, Erykah jokes that she may start searching the crowd of fans for even more help, “I’m going to start looking for the groupies backstage…groupie babysitters!”
