Summer Planners, Look No Further!

Looking to make some sizzling summer plans? Follow this advice: don’t wait until the last minute to book! Sources say the average cost of airfare will probably rise this summer by as much as 25% from last year’s low prices.

It’s all about supply and demand. Demand is up now that summer is creeping in on us (thank goodness it’s that time of year again!), but airlines have reduced flight schedules, which means they have fewer seats to sell.

If you’re planning a trip anytime in the next few months, you might want to follow these tips. First, July is the most traveled month so prices will be steep! No matter what month you’re flying, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays are the least busy days at the airport, while holidays are usually the most hectic.

If you spot a bargain, act fast because deals are usually short-lived. If you’re still getting the same expensive flights every time you search, try to be flexible on the airport you’re flying into or out of, and remember that even just switching the flight time of day will yield different (and possibly cheaper) results. Booking a hotel and flight together can also save you some precious cash.

One last thing: remember to pack light! You’ll save on baggage and will have room for all your souvenirs!
