LOST Star: “There is a Reason Women Have Babies”

Josh Holloway, star of the hit show LOST, shared a bit about his role as a father on the Ellen Degeneres show Monday.  He was quick to say that he was good at faking alertness. “[My daughter] was up all night,” he shared.

He told a funny story about learning to be a dad that had Ellen rolling! “Men. We say we get up at night and we try our best to get up at night and be a warrior. I was doing all that and still am, but this is just how bad we are.” He continued with his story, “I got up, and I am sitting there burping the baby when my wife scolds me. ‘What are you doing?’ [she said].  And I was just in shock. ” He did not understand why he was being scolded.

He replied to his wife, “What do you mean what am I doing? be quiet … I am burping the baby.”  His wife then informed him that no, he was not burping the baby. She was. “I was burping the couch. I had a pillow [and was burping it].”

“So we’re not so talented,” he said. “There’s a reason why women have babies.”

Holloway married his longtime girlfriend, Yessica Kumala, in 2004. They welcomed their first baby, Java Kumala Holloway, on April 1st, 2009.
