“Gossip Girl” actress Kelly Rutherford, mom to Hermes, eighteen months, joined fellow TV stars — and dozens of dogs dressed in an outrageous array of cutting-edge canine fashions–in Palm Beach, Florida for the “The Easter Beagle Presents Canine Couture” fashion show. The event celebrated the release of a newly remastered DVD deluxe edition of “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown” from Warner Home Video. Of course Snoopy, arguably one of the most famous cartoon dogs, was on hand playing host, dressed as the Easter Beagle.
Kelly participated in the fashion show, strutting her stuff with her beloved rescue dog, Oliver. “I’ve been a Snoopy fan for years, and now I have a 1½-year-old son who loves Snoopy almost as much as I do, so I was thrilled to join the fun,” Kelly said. “My son, Hermés, was so excited to meet the Easter Beagle, and my dog, Oliver, was delighted to play a starring role in the show!”
The event was not only fun, it was also a chance to spread an important and timely health message as Easter—and all the tasty treats that come with it—approach: Dog owners should never let their pups eat chocolate; the sweet treat endangers the health of man’s best friend. Just be careful when hiding those chocolate-filled eggs around the house or backyard.
