Heidi Klum's Take on V-Day

October 12, 2009 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

I hope you all had fabulous Valentine’s Days yesterday, whether you were with your husbands, boyfriends, gal pals, or little ones. I was interested to see how some of our fave celeb moms had spent the day/night in light of the predictions I made on Wednesday, and found Heidi’s Klum’s opinion of the holiday quite interesting. I would imagine a supermodel, and inside-and-out gorgeous woman, like Heidi would have lots to look forward to on Valentine’s Day, but in an interview with France’s Elle magazine, the model turned TV show host said that, really, the holiday makes her kind of sad.

When asked about her plans for the supposedly most romantic day of the year, Heidi said, “I don’t know what we are doing, we’ll see what my husband does. Maybe he’ll take me out, maybe we’ll cook.” To Heidi, Valentine’s Day shouldn’t necessarily be all that important. She says she and hubby Seal, “try making every day special. If you’re only in love once a year that would be very sad!”

Heidi, who is a mom to Leni, 3, and Henry, 2, makes a great point. A little romance everyday is more appealing to me than expecting a significant other to really deliver one day out of the year. Though, I’m not sure we really have the time or energy every day to keep our love lives exciting. Now that it’s over, what do you think about V-Day? Is it over-rated or a great reminder of romance? How do you keep the romance going throughout the year?
