Say goodbye to “Kate Plus 8.”
TLC announced today that they have officially canceled Kate Gosselin’s reality show, which showed the challenges she faced while raising eight children – twin daughters and sextuplets – as a single parent.
The network “has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8,” said a spokesperson. “TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future.”
The news might have come as a surprise to the show’s star. Just last week, Gosselin went on the Today show and shot down rumors that “Kate Plus 8,” would be cancelled – saying, “nobody has told me. We’re happy to continue on and will do so as long as people are watching.”
The show was a spin-off from the wildly popular original series, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which showed the young parents – Jon and Kate Gosselin – during their first few years as the parents of multiples. Following the Gosselin’s widely-publicized and messy divorce in 2009, the title was changed to it’s current form.
The 150th and final episode of “Kate Plus 8” will air on Sept. 12th.
