Moms With Style: Celebrity Fashion Lines

Celebrities are natural trend setters, and they certainly know how to rock the red carpet, so it makes perfect sense that some stars double as clothing designers.

Here are three celebrity moms who used their style and savvy to launch to break into the world of fashion and launch their own lines. From football jerseys to vintage-inspired bracelets, these ladies have got you covered!

Gwen Stefani – L.A.M.B.

An edgy mix of vintage, punk and Hollywood glamour, Gwen Stefani’s fashion line L.A.M.B. first hit the runways in 2004 and now banks over $90 million per year. The line is named for Gwen’s debut solo album, “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” and also offers shoes, handbags, watches and other accessories.

The 41-year-old singer/fashion designer is a busy lady – she’s married to rocker Gavin Rossdale and raising two young children, Kingston, 5, and Zuma, 3.

“Music and fashion, it all comes from the same place of creativity,” she told The Seattle Times. “I don’t see why any musician who has style or pays attention to style couldn’t do it [fashion]. It’s an extension of my personality. I can’t explain why I like it, it’s just always been that way for me – like pizza.”

Alyssa Milano –  TOUCH

TOUCH is a sports apparel line launched by Alyssa Milano in 2007. It turns out that the lovely and talented star of “Charmed” and “Who’s the Boss?” is also a die-hard baseball fan, and was disappointed by the lack of fan gear offered for women.

She decided to take matters into her own hands, partnering with G-III Apparel Group and the MLB to design and produce a line of juniors’ ladies baseball apparel.

Since then, Alyssa has branched out, and TOUCH now offers adorable threads for football, basketball, soccer and hockey fans. And in addition to her growing business, the actress has a growing family. She and husband David Bugliari welcomed a new baby boy in August!

Nicole Richie – House of Harlow 1960

Named after Nicole’s daughter, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, House of Harlow 1960 is a jewelry and accessories line that takes cues from Native American and tribal decorative traditions as well as vintage fashions.

Although not technically a clothing line, the collection of fun and funky bangles, rings, necklaces and headbands are hard to beat! Since its launch in 2008, House of Harlow 1960 has been quite a success in the fashion world – with Nicole winning “Entrepreneur of the Year” at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

The 29-year-old also got a new sparkly accessory of her own in 2010, when she married Good Charlotte lead singer Joel Madden. The couple has two children – Harlow, 3 and son Sparrow James Midnight Madden, who just turned 2.
