Celebrity Make-Unders: What if They Weren’t Famous?
Since moving from New York (where everyone wears black and no one brushes their hair) to the sun-tanned, bleach blonde land of Los Angeles, I’ve learned one very valuable lesson: Anyone (and I mean ANYONE) can look good if they’re willing to spend enough money on hair, make-up, wardrobe and personal training.
Which has always made me wonder what celebrities would look like without professional assistance.
Enter “Planet Hiltron” – a project from New York artist Danny Evans that uses the magic of Photoshop to create images of celebrities as ugly regular people.
For example, Jennifer Aniston with a double chin and bad highlights (shown above). Or Brad and Angie dressed in polyester and shoulder pads. Or Madonna if Botox didn’t exist.
The point, as Evans tells Co.Design, is “to show celebrities in a different light. [It’s] my interpretation of how they might appear if they were never famous.”
My personal favorite is this version of Jessica Simpson with a bad perm, ’80s bangs and a sweater that appears to be growing fur.
