She played a mom on the hit TV show Friday Night Lights, and now Connie Britton is a mother in real life as well!
The actress has adopted a nine-month-old baby boy from Ethiopia. She’s named him Eyob, and calling him by the nickname Yoby.
“I am thanking my lucky stars every day,” she told PEOPLE.
It took Britton three years to get through the adoption process, but she was finally able to bring her son home about a week ago.
“It was such a wonderful moment of completion,” she said. “I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears. I was just grinning from ear to ear.”
Since Friday Night Lights wrapped up, the 44-year-old has been quite a busy lady. She’s also starring on the new FX original series American Horror Story.
