No more flying “Hans Solo” for George Lucas – the Star Wars director is planning another walk down the aisle!
A spokeswoman for Lucasfilm Ltd. confirmed that the 68-year-old is engaged to his girlfriend of more than six years, investment firm president Mellody Hobson.
According to the AP, Hobson, 43, serves as chairwoman of DreamWorks Animation and is a financial contributor to ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
It will be her first marriage and his second. Lucas was previously married to film editor Marcia Lou Griffin, with whom he has an adopted daughter Amanda. Following their divorce in 1983, he went on to adopt two more children – Katie and Jett.
It’s been a big year for Lucas. In addition to his engagement, Disney recently completed its acquisition of Lucasfilm and the “Star Wars” franchise from Lucas for $4.06 billion in cash and stock.
