She plays a new mom on the hit sitcom “Modern Family,” and it looks like she might want to expand her brood in real life as well.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Sofia Vergara revealed that she is planning to freeze her eggs.
The vivacious actress is already mom to 20-year-old son Manolo from her first marriage to childhood sweetheart Joe Gonzalez.
But as she makes plans to tie the knot with boyfriend Nick Loeb, the 40-year-old is considering the possibility of having more children in the future.
Loeb “is 37, younger than me, never had kids,” Vergara said in the interview.
In order to keep her options open, the star has started the process. “Hormone pills, and then after that it is hormone injections. They want to get as many eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they’re not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones.”
As for how her son feels about the prospect of having new siblings, Vergara says he’s more than on board with the idea.
“Sometimes he used to scream at me when he was younger: ‘Why can’t you have another baby, so you can stop focusing on me?’” she recalled with a laugh.
