Gwyneth Paltrow Named People’s Most Beautiful Woman

Who is the fairest of them all? This year, People has given the title to Gwyneth Paltrow.

The 40-year-old actress is on the cover of People’s annual “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” issue. But despite her picture perfect looks, Paltrow says she’s not always super glammed up. 

“Around the house, I’m in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t really wear makeup,” she told the magazine, explaining that’s how her daughter Apple and son Moses are used to seeing her.

In fact, her husband (Coldplay frontman Chris Martin) even pokes a little fun at her casual style. “He’ll make a joke about it. If I’ve gotten fully dressed up, he’ll be like, ‘Oh, wow! You’re Gwyneth Paltrow!’ Because he’s used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair.”

Maybe that’s her disguse for when she smokes her weekly cigarette?

Anyway, Goop said she was thrilled when she heard the news that she was this year’s most beautiful woman.

“I honestly thought someone was playing a joke on me,” she told reporters. “I had to reread the e-mail three times. I was like, ‘This can’t be true, I’ve developed dyslexia — I’m not reading this right.’ It’s a very iconic cover in American culture, so it’s just amazing.”

She also shared how her definition of beauty has changed as she has grown older.

“I feel my most beautiful when I am truly myself. Meaning, when I accept exactly where I am in time and space, and I’m not judging myself in any way, and I feel that I have the peace that comes with loving yourself and all of your flaws.”

“I see so much now how beauty really does, as cliché as it sounds, emanate from within.”
