Throw a Hassle-Free Football Party!

February 4, 2011 by Madison Pados Leave a Comment

If you’re planning on having people over to watch the game, here are some tips on how to throw a hassle-free football watching party that is sure to win you a victory with your friends.

1. Start Planning Early

Don’t get bogged down at the last minute. Make a list and start planning your menu in advance so you can truly enjoy a stress-free get-together at your house. To make your life a little easier, you can host a potluck-style party, where you designate people to bring a dish. Make sure to organize this well so that you’re not stuck with 20 hot dogs and no buns.

2. Give the Fans What They Want

Your guests are expecting certain kinds of foods to munch on as they enjoy their game. So, for the most part, stick with the classic football food groups: chips, dip, hot dogs, hamburgers, sliced veggies, and condiments. Think “hand-held” so you can allow people to concentrate fully on the game. Remember, it’s All-American football, not a classy dinner party. Save the exotic new recipe you learned on the Food Network for later.

3. Make Sure to Enjoy the Game, Too!

Serve easy foods that you prepare beforehand so you are able to relax and enjoy the game, too. Don’t get stuck in the kitchen while everyone else is having a blast in the TV room. Also, remember that your friends didn’t only come to see the game, they came to enjoy your company, as well.

4. Don’t Forget Dessert

If you’d like to personalize your football party and add something special to the table, dessert is a good place to do that. Show off your creativity by using frosting or food dyes to make football-inspired shapes and themes in your favorite team’s colors. Or, forgo the baking altogether and buy cookies or a pre-made cake.
