Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room Saturday. He was 31 years old.
Authorities say the cause of death was not immediately apparent. However, CNN reports that they have ruled out foul play.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, he checked into the hotel on July 6, and was expected to check out Saturday. After he missed his checkout time, hotel staff discovered his body.
The actor struggled with drug abuse throughout his life. In an interview with Parade magazine in 2011, he spoke about using drugs at the age of 13 and going to rehab at 19.
Monteith, who played the lovable Finn Hudson on the hit musical comedy-drama, also spent time in rehab earlier this year.
His co-star and friend Mark Salling reacted to the news on Twitter Saturday, with shock and disbelief, writing simply. “no.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Monteith family during this terrible time.
