Emma Roberts was arrested in Montreal on domestic violence charges after a fight with her boyfriend Evan Peters.
On July 7, authorities responded to reports of a heated argument in the hotel room the couple was sharing and found Peters with a bloody nose and bite mark, according to TMZ.
The 22-year-old actress (and niece of Julia Roberts) was arrested, but was released hours later when Peters, 26, declined to press charges.
The two actors released a joint statement addressing the incident:
“It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it,” the reps told Us Weekly.
Roberts and Peters both appear in “Adult World,” a dark comedy that was screened at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
The couple will also appear together on the upcoming third season of “American Horror Story.”
