How to Do an EPT Home Pregnancy Test

January 5, 2011 by ds_51230 Leave a Comment

When you think you might be pregnant, you want to know as soon as possible. The e.p.t. brand pregnancy test is available over-the-counter (OTC) in most stores, which makes it a popular choice for home pregnancy testing. Though the company offers different versions of the test, such as a digital and analog version, the method of taking the test is the same. In just a few minutes, you could know if you are pregnant.

e.p.t. Pregnancy Test

Step 1

Remove the pregnancy test from its foil packaging.

Step 2

Take off the purple cap, holding the test by the other end. This exposes the absorbent strip. You do not want to touch this strip.

Step 3

Soak the absorbent tip with urine. One way to do this is to place it in your urine stream for five seconds. Alternatively, you can collect your urine in a cup and dip the stick into the urine for 20 seconds.

Step 4

Place the cover back on.

Step 5

Set the pregnancy test down on a flat surface.

Step 6

Read the test results after two minutes. If you are pregnant, you will see a “+.” If you are not, you will see a “-.”

e.p.t. Digital

Step 1

Remove the foil cover from the test.

Step 2

Take off the cap. Take care not to touch the exposed area.

Step 3

Put the test stick into the holder, lining up the purple arrows. You’ll hear a “click” sound when you’ve done it correctly.

Step 4

Soak the absorbent tip in urine. You can do this by placing the tip in your urine stream or by collecting your urine in a cup and dipping the tip into the urine.

Step 5

Set the test down on the counter. If you’ve done things correctly, the display screen will flash and show a “Test Ready” message after about 30 seconds.

Step 6

Read your results. After two minutes, you will be able to read “Pregnant” or “Not Pregnant” in the display screen.
