Simon Cowell is going to be the dad to a little boy!
Several news outlets have reported that the 53-year-old X Factor judge is expecting a boy with Lauren Silverman.
“He is over the moon to be having a son,” a source told NY Daily News.
The baby, which is due in February, will be the first child for Cowell and the second for Silverman, who has a 7-year-old son, Adam.
She and her husband Andrew Silverman (Adam’s father) are currently in the middle of divorce proceedings. The pair separated after Lauren’s relationship with Cowell was revealed.
Cowell addressed the complicated situation in an interview with Neil Fox on British radio station Magic FM.
“It was a surprise initially and some of the circumstances around this were very uncomfortable to say the least, but it happened and she’s an incredible girl.”
He continued, “then once I got used to the idea that I was going to be a dad, then I was really happy.”
