Less than two weeks after his arrest for an alleged DUI, Lamar Odom has checked himself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, according to People.com.
“He realized he needs help,” a source reportedly told the website.
Rumors have been flying about the 33-year-old NBA free agent, who is married to reality star Khloe Kardashian.
TMZ reported that his drug use was a source of trouble in the couple’s relationship, although Khloe was apparently focused on getting him help.
Two days after her husband’s DUI arrest, she posted a message on Twitter writing “As much as I wish I were made of steel… I’m not.”
Odom’s father struggled with heroin addiction and the basketball star has admitted to drug use in the past. Back in 2001, he violated NBA drug policies twice in a period of eight months.
Here’s hoping that he gets the help he needs to get back on track.
