Parenting Motto: How Would This Sound on the Six O’Clock News?
I have always relied heavily on my gut to guide me through big decisions and it has, for the most part, been very good to me. I have been told that I have a good head on my shoulders and I think it is fairly accurate (apparently Im feeling really modest today too). But if you dont know me then it helps to have some background here.
Don’t Stand for Bullying
High school can be one of the most trying times for young adults. It is an age full of insecurities and cliques, with people just trying to fit in, and trying to figure out who they are. It is also, unfortunately, an age when people can be extraordinarily mean. I get sick to my stomach when I hear about bullying and beatings and harassments that have been going on in schools. Some of the stories are absolutely horrifying. Obviously, bullying is nothing new, but the severity of the attacks seems to be on a whole other level. As a parent of young kids, I am worried about what is in store for them when they get to that age.

Feeding Kids With Food Allergies: Moving Past My Fears
Our household is a direct reflection of US childhood allergy statistics: 1 in 3 kids in the US has food allergies. My youngest of our 3 kids put us on that chart. I have heard varying reasons as to why children develop allergies, and since no one really knows why, I wont try and hypothesize about that here.
