Fashion Files: Cute AND Comfy Shoes for Moms!

The following is a guest post from Leslie Newton from timi & leslie

We are moms.  We walk around bouncing babies so they don’t cry.  We chase toddlers all over the place.  We need comfy shoes, but must we sacrifice style???

The answer is no.  We can still look stylish, fashionable and be comfortable.   Here are some of my favorite picks of chic yet practical shoes:

Kork-Ease sandals

The Myrna Sandal and the Ande sandal are two of my favorites.  Really stylish wedge sandals that aren’t too high, so they’re great if you’re going to be on your feet a lot.

Moccasins

They are very trendy right now, especially ones in bright, fun colors.  They are comfortable, easy to run around in, and look great with leggings or jeans.

Espadrilles

Again, in bright colors or even cute stripes.  These go with almost everything, and won’t trip you up when you’re running around the playground.

Ballet flats

I love ballet flats, you can get them in so many colors and patterns, and they go with everything.  If you are going to be on your feet for long periods of time, make sure you get some with a little support so you don’t hurt your back or knees.

Ankle boots

I love ankle boots, especially with skirts and dresses.  They always make any outfit look chic, and you can run all over town in them!

Converse Sneakers

I just saw a new mom with her baby and she was wearing bright yellow converse low tops with hot pink laces.  She had on just the right outfit, and made this crazy combo work.  Converse sneakers always look cute and casual, and you can choose from crazy colors to classic black.

One thing you can do is get supportive inserts to put in your shoes to make sure you are getting good support for your back and knees.   Wearing shoes that are too flat can eventually catch up with you over time.   I hope these fashion tips help, ladies!  May your days be filled with fashion and comfort!!

Besides creating fashionable diaper bags, Leslie loves doing crafts with her 3 year old daughter, and going on lots of family outings. Leslie loves anything vintage or mid-century modern – clothes, furniture, jewelry, fabric – all which have a big influence on the timi & leslie aesthetic.
