If you’re a fan of Shrek, you’ll definitely want to check out Puss In Boots in 3D! Like it’s precursor, the spin-off weaves together threads from classic fairy tales while adding new elements for a fresh and fun film experience.
The story starts with Puss (Antonio Banderas) on the run as a wanted cat.
While in a bar with some shady characters, he hears rumors of the ultimate score – three magical beans that, when planted, yield an enormous bean-stalk leading to a giant’s castle where the finest treasure can be found (a goose that lays golden eggs).
But there’s just one problem: the beans are locked away and kept by the infamous villains Jack (Billy Bob Thornton) and Jill (Amy Sedaris).
Cue the hjijinks as Puss sets out in search of these magical beans.
Upon discovering their location, he meets his match in the form of another feline, Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek), who has the same agenda and foils his mission.
Puss follows her to a tavern, and after a hair-raising dance duel discovers that she is working with an old friend turned rival, Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis). After resolving some issues from the past, Puss decides to join forces with the pair and they set embark on the quest to strike it rich.
Kids will love the animated humor and adults will enjoy the subtle jokes for older audiences. And even if you don’t usually spring for the 3D version of a film, you’ll want to make an exception for this one! DreamWorks has really figured out how to make 3D work – and the details are amazing, especially the characters’ journeys through caves, clouds and castles
