Spring Shopping Guide – The Flirty Dress

It’s so easy to freshen up your wardrobe and feel like a million bucks just with a few new things. This week, the editors at Modernmom will pick a daily Spring pick — by the end of the week, you’ll be all up on your fashion news.

Flirty Dresses!

If you don’t have a flirty dress in your closet, run and buy one — it is a definite must-have for spring and summer and can be worn pretty much everywhere: the office, a bbq, picking up your kids from school. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, here are some different options for various occasions.

1. Prints

Belted Tunic Dress

Prints were all over the runways for spring and summer and always look fresh. If you want to break up a print, throw on a thick belt or a light scarf. We loved this dress because you can dress it up or down and is bohemian without being too over the top “hippie.”
MM Tip: If you want to dress up this look, wear a more “done” hairstyle like a sleek and wear a high pair of heels. Sexy.

2. Neutrals

Draped Rose Dress

Neutrals like rose, sand or taupe are very feminine and soft. It’s a standout idea for a dinner date or a casual get together and can be dressed up or down.
MM Tip: Add a braid in your hair or do a loose bun to complete this romantic look.

3. One Shoulder

Ruched One Shoulder Dress

The one-shoulder dress is a classy way to show a little bit more skin. It’s absolutely perfect for a more dressy dinner or a cocktail party, but can be dressed down with flip flops or flats.
MM Tip: You can go a teensy bit shorter without it going overboard since you’re not really showing cleavage.

4. Mini

Alexander Want Mini Dress

Yes you can wear a mini without looking too saucy! — show your legs and cover the rest, or pick a mini with sleeves. You can also add a denim jacket or cardigan to make it look a little more conservative.
MM Tip: Feel a little too sexy wearing a mini? Wear a cute pair of flats or metallic flip flops for a more casual look
