How to Make a Nutella Tart

November 18, 2012 by Jessie Daye Leave a Comment

Why not add a Nutella tart alongside your delicious pumpkin, apple, and pecan pies for Thanksgiving?

This rich, creamy, and utterly delicious dessert uses the yummy chocolate hazelnut spread Nutella to create a scrumptious treat.

And while it might look pretty impressive, it’s actually super simple to make.

Nutella Tart Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 8 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • Whipping cream
  • Chocolate chips

Directions

Add graham cracker crumbs and melted butter to a bowl and mix until the butter is well incorporated. Note: with all of the butter in the crust, it is not necessary to grease the tart pan.

Pour mixture into tart pan, then press it down evenly across the bottom and up the side.  Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes until golden brown.  Remove from oven and put in the freezer for 20 minutes until cold.

Add sugar, whipping cream, cream cheese, vanilla extract and Nutella to a bowl, and mix with a hand-held mixer on medium speed until smooth.  Add filling to cold graham cracker crust, then smooth it out.  Put in the freezer for 1 hour.

Add equal parts chocolate chips and whipping cream to a bowl, and microwave for 3 minutes stopping every 30 seconds to stir the mixture.  Stir until smooth.  With a spatula, drizzle the ganache in lines over the frozen tart for a decorative look.
