Brazilian Beauty Tips

August 11, 2010 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

Brazilian women are among the most beautiful women in the world and have long been recognized as such. Naturally, women from the rest of the world are curious to find out some Brazilian beauty tips. Gisele Bundchen, anyone? We wouldn’t mind looking a little more like her…

Babassu Oil

Babassu oil, from the Babassu tree, is native to Brazil. Babassu oil is similar to coconut oil. It is beginning to surpass coconut oil in popularity, according to the Soapers Choice website. At room temperature, this oil is in a semi-solid form that melts when you apply it to your body. It creates a cooling feeling on your skin. This oil is good for oily and dry skin types, moisturizing without leaving an oily sheen.

Sand

If you are fortunate enough to live near a warm, sandy beach, as the Brazilian women do, you can practice one of their beauty tips just the way they do it. Brazilian women rub wet sand on their bodies while relaxing on the beach, according to the Beyond Jane website. The sand smooths the skin. If you don’t live near such a beach, you can buy a beauty bar that features sand.

Hair Straightening System

A hair straightening system from Brazil tames the most unruly hair, according to the “Elle Magazine” website. Called “escova progressiva” which means progressive blow-dry, this treatment heat-seals the hair with the protein, keratin. This procedure gets rid of the frizz in your hair. Because this process is topical, as opposed to a chemical alteration of the hair, the Brazilian keratin system causes minimal damage compared to the Japanese thermal straightening system, says Mark Garrison, New York salon owner on the “Elle Magazine” website.

Juice

Brazilian women drink carrot and beet juice on a regular basis to give their skin a healthy glow, according to the Beyond Jane website. Beet juice, in particular, is supposed to be good for improving your circulation, according to the Agro Products website.

Brazilian Wax

The Brazilian bikini wax is perhaps the most well-know Brazilian beauty tip. Thong bikinis are commonplace on Brazilian beaches, and Brazilian women prefer a cleanly waxed bikini area. Salons around the United States routinely perform this service.
