Five Minute Hairstyles

Sometimes you need a hairstyle that helps you get ready in a hurry. Maybe you have overslept and you need to get to work fast, or maybe you just need to get ready quickly for a hot date. The weather sometimes also doesn’t cooperative when you try to work with your hair. Humid or rainy days can really do a number on your locks. For all of these reasons and more, it is nice to have some quick, five-minute hairstyles to fall back on.

Braid

If your hair is long, you can make it look nice by simply braiding it. Section your hair into three parts and alternately pull one over the other until you create your braid. You can leave out a wisp of hair at the nape of your neck or near your ear for a feminine touch. Use a curling iron to create a loose curl or two for an added element, the Beauty Den website suggests. Braid your hair to one side, either the right or left, for a more interesting look.

Hot Mess Updo

Take a piece of hair, twirl it and lift it up to your head. Make it into a loose loop by coiling it, and bobby pin down the end. Do this until all of your hair is up, and lightly spray it for a mellow style, Glamour Beauty recommends.

Ponytail Glam

No one will mistake this ponytail for the one you wear to the gym. Glam it up by applying a volumizer to damp or dry hair. Tease your hair a little with a comb. Pull your hair up to the crown of your head and just a bit off-center. Leave out a section in the back. Tie your ponytail with an elastic band. Wrap the section of hair you left out around the elastic, and bobby pin it underneath.

The Twist

The twist is sexy enough for a date, Glamour Beauty says. Start with the bottom of your hair, lightly twist and roll it up toward the crown of your head. Bobby pin it in place. Tuck the ends under and pin them down. Pull out strands to make the look sexier.

Braided Chignon

The braided chignon is sort of like a bun, but more interesting. Put some styling gel through your dry hair. Make a low ponytail and braid it. Wrap it around itself and secure it with bobby pins. Pull out pieces on the side of your face or at your temples.

Ballerina Bun

Make a bun on top of your head. Put some styling cream on your fingers before working with your hair. Flip your head upside down, while gathering your hair. Lift your head back up, tilt to the side, chin up and secure the hair with an elastic band. If you have flyaway hairs, keep them there, so that you do not look overdone, the Allure website says.
