How to Make Love & Dinner

July 27, 2010 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

While many lovers choose to venture out on dates, creating a simple meal-at-home date for you and your partner can lead to a romantic night comprised of equal parts good food and good sex. Instead of spending a night on the town, make dinner–and love–at home. With careful planning, you can surprise your partner with an intimate evening during which you cook up some tasty food and spicy sex.

Step 1

Select the perfect date. Not all nights are as conducive to love making as others. To ensure that your night ends up as steamy as you hope, look for a night sandwiched between two days off. By selecting a night that follows a work-free day, you can ensure that your partner is not too tired to perform in the sack. If he doesn’t work the next day either, he can stay up all night meeting your carnal needs.

Step 2

Plan a seductive menu. While burgers and french fries may be tasty and simple, they are hardly romance-inducing. Pick a menu that is sensuous and erotic in nature. Try foods like oysters, which have long been touted as having libido-enhancing properties. If you are sporting a bun-in-the-oven, steer clear of oysters because, as MayoClinic.com reports, they are potentially dangerous for pregnant women. Look for finger foods that you and you partner can feed to each other as a little mealtime foreplay.

Step 3

Mix some cocktails. A few well-selected cocktails can grease the wheels and get your love-making rolling. Imbibing a few adult-friendly concoctions, will likely reduce any romance-hindering nervousness that you or your partner may be feeling. Trade standard cocktails for playful mocktails (without alcohol), if you are pregnant on the night of your planned tryst.

Step 4

Prepare a make-it-together dessert. Instead of fixing dessert before your partner arrives, take your love affair into the kitchen and craft the dessert together. Purchase the supplies necessary for the creation of parfaits, and work with your partner to put together these sweet meal enders.

Step 5

Set the scene for love. Your decorating scheme is likely lovely, but it hardly screams sex. To make your intentions clear, modify your decor. Place candles and flowers around the room. Dim the lights and place blankets and pillows on the floor to prepare a cushy place for you and your partner to canoodle.

Step 6

Save time to primp. Even though you may have slaved away in the kitchen all day, you don’t want to look–or smell–like you did. Plan your meal preparation carefully and ensure that you leave plenty of time to make yourself presentable and appropriately alluring to your hungry lover.
