Mel B. Debuts Feline-Inspired Fashion Line

Watch out Victoria, there is another Spice Girl poised to conquer the catwalks. Melanie “Mel B” Brown debuted her new clothing line, Catty Couture, at the California Market Center in downtown LA on April 7. Creating the designs, which feature high-waisted skirts, leggings, tank tops, and lots of leopard print, were lots of fun for the mother of two (including daughter Angel with Eddie Murphy, who turns one this month) to create. “I’m so excited!” Mel told People. ”
It got pulled together quickly, really quickly. To actually see it, yeah, [it is] amazing.” And her favorite pieces from the line? “The high-waisted leather skirt and the jacket are my favorite pieces. It’s just that you can never go wrong with a leather, black high-waisted skirt. It goes with everything. It makes everything look clean and sexy.”

While some of the pieces lean toward the skimpier side, they are far more modest than Mel’s other fashion venture: a Brazilian bikini line. “That’s been under wraps for many years because I just wear it,”
she says of the designs, handmade by a woman in Brazil. As for feedback from her fellow Spice Girls on her feline-inspired clothing and bikinis? “We’re all really supportive of each other,” Mel B.
