Unique Baby Shower Themes
While baby showers are generally all alike in purpose, not all of these life-celebrating events center around the same theme. When planning your next baby shower, consider adopting a unique theme. By doing so, you can separate your celebration from the rest and make the gathering more uncommonly reflective of the mother and child for whom the event was planned to honor.

Red, White and Blue
If you happen to be hosting the birth of a baby around the time that we celebrate the birth of America, reflect this event in your shower by adopting a red, white, blue and baby theme. To create a shower of this type, decorate in patriotic red, white and blue. Use flowers in these hues along with small flags to create floral centerpieces. Create a buffet of foods that features these dominant colors. Add an element of Americana to your baby games by creating a matching game in which guests must pair a U.S. president with the date and city of his birth.
Under Construction
Make a playful nod to the construction project that is underway in the mom-to-be's belly by planning an under construction baby event. Define your party space by surrounding it with construction cones and caution tape. Give guests plastic hardhats to wear at the event. Create construction-themed centerpieces by integrating toy construction equipment into the mix. Ask guests to participate in games that follow this theme, challenging them to build structures out of baby bottles, diapers or boxes of baby wipes. While you could opt for this theme to celebrate the birth of a baby of either gender, it is generally more appropriate to celebrate the arrival of a boy.
Cuddle Bug
Adopt a cuddle bug theme. Decorate your event with cuddly incarnations of bugs, selecting stuffed animals or plastic figurines that are designed to be cute, such as pastel bees and plush beetles. Lay these decorations on party tables, suspend them from the ceiling or nestle them amongst flowers to create a centerpiece. Plan bug-themed games, such as bug name unscrambles or games in which players must match the bug with its description.
Alice in Wonderland
Use the Lewis Carroll classic "Alice in Wonderland," as the theme for your baby shower. Create decorations that feature cards, as these game play elements are featured prominently in this text. Create Alice-themed decorations, such as a stuffed or drawn Cheshire cat or trouble-creating mad hatter. Feature a blonde girl in a light blue, aproned dress on your invitation to represent the title character.
