Spy Kids Cookie Recipe Fun

July 25, 2011 by Madison Pados Leave a Comment

"Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World" is hitting movie theaters in less than a month, and we can’t wait to see spy mom Marissa (played by Jessica Alba) join forces with her step-kids, Rebecca and Cecil, to battle to evil Timekeeper (Jeremy Piven).

 ;

Another thing that’s exciting about this film is the brand new Aromascope technology that will let the audience experience the movie through the sense of smell. So to get your nose ready for the big premiere, have some fun with your own kids by trying out this recipe for Spy Kids Magnifying Glass Cookies. We think they smell as good as they taste!

Ingredients:

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 egg
2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Colored sugar or Granulated sugar

Step 1: Heat oven to 375°F.

Step 2: Beat sugar and butter with electric mixer on low speed or with spoon
until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla, nutmeg and egg. Stir in flour and baking
soda. Shape dough by teaspoonfuls into balls. Place about 2 inches apart on
ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.

Step 3: Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until set. Remove from cookie sheet to wire
rack.

Step 4: Flatten out rounds and also make oblong cookies for the handle.

And if you want to make your cookies extra sweet, try this icing recipe –

Ingredients:

4 cups confectioners’ sugar
1/2 cup shortening
5 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
food coloring

Directions: In a large bowl, cream together the confectioners’sugar and shortening until smooth. Gradually mix in the milk and vanilla with an electric mixer until smooth and stiff, about 5 minutes. Color with food coloring if desired.
